What is a lash relax service?

Because Your Lashes Needs a Second Chance
A lash lift should leave your lashes looking beautifully curved, lifted and effortless.
But sometimes, the result does not turn out quite as expected.
The lashes may become too tightly curled, point in different directions, cross over one another or develop a slightly frizzy or crimped appearance. This can happen when the lashes have reacted more strongly to the lifting solution than anticipated.
The good news is that, in selected cases, you do not necessarily have to wait for the entire lash cycle before your lashes can look more balanced again.

This is where Lash Relax comes in.
At PMU Beauty Elite, Lash Relax is a corrective treatment designed to soften an over-curled or uneven lash lift and bring the lashes back into a more natural, harmonious direction.
But before correcting the shape, it is important to understand why overprocessing happens in the first place.
What actually happens to your lashes during a lash lift?
Our eyelashes are made mainly from keratin, the same structural protein found in our hair.
Within keratin are different chemical interactions that help give the hair fibre its strength and shape. Among the most important are disulfide bonds, which act almost like tiny bridges between keratin structures.
During a professional lash lift, the first solution temporarily alters some of these disulfide bonds. This makes the lash fibre more flexible, allowing us to reshape it over a lifting shield.
The second step then helps stabilise the lash in its new position.
This chemistry is not unique to lashes. The same basic principle has long been used in permanent waving and chemical hair reshaping: disulfide bonds are temporarily altered so the hair fibre can take on a different shape.
When everything is correctly balanced, the result is a soft and controlled lift.
The important word here is balanced.
Why can lashes become overprocessed?
Not every lash responds to a lifting solution in exactly the same way.
Fine lashes may process much faster than coarse lashes. Previously lifted lashes can react differently from untreated lashes. Porosity, previous treatments, product strength and processing time can all influence how quickly the chemical reaction takes place.
Research into keratin fibres shows that their behaviour depends not only on disulfide bonds but also on hydrogen bonds, ionic interactions and other structural components within the fibre. Chemical treatments can alter this balance and therefore change both the shape and mechanical behaviour of the hair.
If the reducing stage progresses further than necessary, the lash can become overprocessed.

Instead of maintaining a smooth curve, you might notice lashes that are extremely curled, slightly crimped, unusually dry, crossed over one another or pointing in several different directions.
This does not mean that there is no solution.
It simply means that the lashes need to be approached differently and much more carefully.
What is Lash Relax?
Lash Relax is essentially a corrective reshaping procedure.
The goal is not to create another dramatic lift.
Quite the opposite.
We want to gently release excessive curvature and reposition the lashes into a softer and more natural direction.
Before performing the treatment, we first assess the condition of the natural lashes.
We look at their flexibility, thickness, direction, level of over-curling and overall structural condition.
This assessment is essential because a previously processed lash can react much faster than an untreated one.
Lash Relax therefore requires a much more conservative approach than a standard lash lift.
When the lashes are suitable for correction, the chemical reshaping process is carefully controlled so that the excessive curl can be softened. The lashes are then repositioned and stabilised in a more balanced shape.
The difference can be significant.
Lashes that previously appeared overly curled or irregular can look softer, more separated and considerably more natural after correction.
Does Lash Relax restore an overprocessed lash?
This is where we believe honesty is important.
Lash Relax can restore the appearance and direction of the lashes, but it cannot turn a previously processed lash back into completely untouched keratin.
The visible lash is a keratinised fibre. Once it has grown outside the follicle, it does not biologically regenerate itself in the same way living skin does.
So our objective is not to pretend that we can reverse every structural change that has already taken place.
Instead, we focus on three things:
correcting the shape, conditioning the existing lash fibre and protecting the lashes while new lashes continue to grow naturally.
This is also why aftercare becomes especially important following a Lash Relax treatment.

Why aftercare is not optional after Lash Relax
At PMU Beauty Elite, we consider aftercare an essential part of the Lash Relax process.
Once lashes have already undergone a lifting treatment and then a corrective procedure, we want to minimise unnecessary dryness and mechanical stress as much as possible.

For this reason, we strongly recommend Wimpernwelle Lash & Brow Lamination Fluid as part of the home-care routine following Lash Relax.
The current formula contains hydrolyzed keratin, hydrolyzed wheat protein and panthenol, ingredients specifically chosen for the conditioning of lashes and brows. Wimpernwelle itself recommends the home version as a continuation of its professional keratin care following lifting treatments.
Why these ingredients?
Hydrolyzed Keratin
Keratin-based conditioning ingredients are particularly useful when the surface of the hair has become rougher following chemical processing.
Hydrolyzed keratin helps condition the hair fibre and improve its surface feel, making stressed lashes appear smoother and more manageable.
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
Wheat proteins help form a light protective film around the hair fibre.
For lashes that have already undergone chemical processing, this is particularly useful because reducing friction and improving surface smoothness can help the lashes remain more flexible and manageable.
Panthenol – Provitamin B5
Panthenol is one of our favourite ingredients for post-treatment conditioning because of its ability to attract and retain moisture.
Keeping an overprocessed lash well conditioned is particularly important because chemically treated hair can behave differently when exposed to repeated cycles of moisture, drying and mechanical friction.
Panthenol is also interesting from a hair-biology perspective.
Laboratory research using cultured human hair follicle cells has found that D-panthenol can influence cell viability, proliferation and biological pathways associated with the active growth phase of hair follicles.
For this reason, we prefer to say that panthenol provides supportive conditioning while the natural lash cycle continues, rather than promising artificial or accelerated eyelash growth.
Science matters to us just as much as beautiful results.
Caring for the lashes while new ones grow
After Lash Relax, our aim is to support the lashes that are already present while the natural growth cycle gradually introduces new, untreated lashes.
This is why consistency at home matters.
Regular use of the Wimpernwelle Lamination Fluid helps provide moisture, protein-based conditioning and a protective film around the existing lash fibre.
Think of it less as trying to “undo” the past and more as giving the lashes the best possible conditions while nature gradually replaces the previously processed fibres.
New lashes will continue to emerge naturally from the follicle.
Our job is to take care of the lashes you already have during that transition.
Is Lash Relax suitable for everyone?
No — and that is very important.
Sometimes lashes are simply excessively curled but still maintain enough flexibility and structural integrity to be carefully corrected.
In these cases, Lash Relax can be a very effective option.
In other cases, the lashes may already be extremely fragile, very dry or breaking easily.
When we feel that another chemical procedure would place unnecessary stress on the lashes, we will recommend waiting rather than correcting immediately.
A professional treatment is not about doing something simply because we technically can.
Sometimes the most responsible treatment is conditioning, patience and allowing the natural lash cycle to do its work.
This is why every Lash Relax treatment at PMU Beauty Elite begins with an individual assessment.
So, do you have to live with a bad lash lift until it grows out?
Not at all.
An overly curled or uneven lash lift can be frustrating, especially when the result looks completely different from the soft, natural lift you originally wanted.
Fortunately, when the condition of the lashes allows it, Lash Relax can offer a corrective option.
The aim is simple: soften excessive curvature, improve the direction of the lashes and bring the overall result back into balance.
It is not about putting the lashes through another aggressive procedure.
It is about understanding what happened, respecting the chemistry of the hair fibre and correcting it as conservatively as possible.
Our Lash Relax philosophy at PMU Beauty Elite
We believe corrective treatments should always combine science, experience and restraint.
A beautiful result is important, but so is knowing when to treat and when to wait.
Following Lash Relax, we strongly recommend continuing the treatment at home with Wimpernwelle Lash & Brow Lamination Fluid. Its combination of hydrolyzed keratin, wheat protein and panthenol helps condition and protect the processed lash fibre while new lashes continue to emerge through their natural cycle.
Because sometimes your lashes do not need another dramatic transformation.
They simply need a second chance, a gentler approach and the right aftercare.
Is Lash Relax right for you?
If your recent lash lift has left your lashes too curly, uneven, crossed or difficult to manage, you can book a consultation at PMU Beauty Elite.
We will first examine the condition of your natural lashes and determine whether corrective treatment is suitable.
Because when it comes to overprocessed lashes, more treatment is not always better — the right treatment is.
