Temporary reactions can include discomfort, redness, swelling, tenderness, whitening or frosting after laser treatment, pinpoint bleeding, oozing, crusting or blistering. Less common complications include burns, infection, prolonged inflammation, allergic or inflammatory reactions, scarring or keloid formation, changes in skin texture, temporary or permanent hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation, pigment colour change or paradoxical darkening—especially with pigments containing iron oxide, titanium dioxide, white, beige or skin-tone pigment—and incomplete or uneven removal. Results and healing vary, and complete removal cannot be guaranteed.
